It Ain't Dere No More - Charlotte Moss Closes Her New York Shop

From Woman's Wear Daily:
Almost a year and a half after opening her East 63rd Street flagship to much hype, interior designer Charlotte Moss is closing the shop at the end of next month. “This was a difficult decision based on personal considerations,” Moss said. “While the interest in the store was gratifying, the demands of running the boutique and at the same time maintaining my interior design practice, licensing product and other aspects of my business were crowding out all of the other facets of my life — time for myself, my family, and my philanthropic and community work.”
What a bummer. For some reason I always thought Charlotte had a shop in NYC for like a zillion years. I swore I shopped there. In my mind's eye it was right near Bloomingdale's.
But all the reports say she opened this shop just last Spring 2007, and now it's closing! I really hope her "personal reasons" are not serious, like a family illness. I'm glad she's scaling back to enjoy HER life more. All work can make a girl crazy and sick. Believe me I know.
So here are a few photos of this pretty shop via Red River Interiors who did a nice posting when the shop first opened HERE

You have until the end of the month to drop by and wish Charlotte well.

  1. Too much work can make girl really sick - I also know it. Enjoying life, finding more balance and spiritual fulfilment is more important.

  4. Ewa, Yes we do have to listen to the universe when it kicks us in the ass, like when we get sick mentally and physically for over doing it.
I hope you listened, and I hope you're good as new, and I wish you well.
